How we calculate these numbersShow
CO₂ absorbed — a mature tree absorbs roughly 21.8 kg (48 lb) of CO₂ per year. We multiply that by total trees funded. Young trees absorb less, so treat this as a mature-growth estimate rather than a figure for today.
Forest restored — based on a typical planting density of about 400 trees per acre.
Tree counts — entered manually from the confirmations our planting partners send us, and published here whether or not we hit the goal.
